5.1 magnitude earthquake reported close to Padangsidempuan, Indonesia on Sept. 4

SOUTH TAPANULI REGENCY, North Sumatra — A 5.1 magnitude quake hit close to Padangsidempuan on Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 16:24 UTC (23:24 local time). It occurred at a depth of 122 km with the epicenter roughly 25 km west of Padangsidempuan.
