CHIISAGATA DISTRICT, Nagano — A 5.2 magnitude quake shook near Volcano Islands on Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 05:44 UTC (15:44 local time), a tremor struck the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter of Volcano Islands. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
