Earthquake of magnitude 5.0 detected close to Isangel, Vanuatu on July 8

WEST TANNA, Tafea Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Isangel on Wednesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 11:45 UTC (22:45 local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 35 km, with its epicenter roughly 73 km south-southwest of Isangel.
