A 5.2 magnitude quake struck close to Mabiton on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 07:04 UTC (15:04 local time). The epicenter was roughly 12 km west-southwest of Mabiton, at a depth of 10 km.

The agency has received 7 responses on its online form so far, from people indicating they felt weak shaking. Residents reported experiencing the quake in a couple of cities, including Capucnasan and Tinago, according to the USGS DYFI report.

Tremors last week

In the past week, the area has experienced two quakes greater than magnitude 2.5. The larger, a 5.4 magnitude event, was registered in the same area on Jul. 13. The other, with a magnitude of 4.6, hit close to San Rafael on Jul. 14.
