A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to the South Sandwich Islands on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the region at 05:14 UTC (04:14 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was east of the South Sandwich Islands and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
