At 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service released an updated red flag warning in effect until 10 p.m. for Crowley County including Ordway and Otero County including La Junta and Western Comanche Grasslands.

Residents can expect winds to be southeast 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and relative humidity as low as 13%.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” says the NWS.
