A 5.2 magnitude quake hit close to Sarangani on Monday around midday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which jolted the region at 04:23 UTC (12:23 local time), was centered roughly 92 km south-southwest of Sarangani. It occurred at a depth of 9 km.

Last week’s quakes

In the past week, there have been two earthquakes greater than magnitude 2.5 centered nearby. The larger one was a 6.5 tremor that was detected close to Balangonan on Jun. 26. The other, of magnitude 4.9, was felt near Sarangani on Jun. 25.
