Update: Fire weather watch for Southwest Colorado and Paradox Valley for Friday – enhanced fire threat

On Tuesday at 10:01 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch valid for Friday between noon and 9 p.m. for Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Paradox Valley.

Expect winds to be south 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity 13 to 18%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” states the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
