On Sunday at 10:17 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch valid for Tuesday between noon and 10 p.m. for the Western Slope.

Residents can expect winds to be southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity 5 to 10%.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” states the NWS.

• Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area

• Paradox Valley

• Northern San Juan

• North Fork

• Gunnison Basin

• Southwest Colorado Upper West Forecast Area
