The National Weather Service released an updated fire weather watch at 8:05 p.m. on Monday valid for Wednesday between noon and 9 p.m. for Colorado.

Winds are forecasted to be west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity 7 to 12%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

The full list of affected locations includes:

• Little Snake

• White River

• Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area

• Paradox Valley

• Gunnison Basin

• Southwest Colorado Upper West Forecast Area

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
