Update: June 9 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake reported close to Kuril’sk, Russia

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Kuril’sk on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the area at 19:25 UTC (05:25 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was roughly 144 km east-southeast of Kuril’sk and occurred at a depth of 53 km.
