An updated report was issued from the National Weather Service on Monday at 5:53 p.m. for winds and strong outflow until 7 p.m. for Logan, Sedgwick and Phillips counties.

“At 5:53 p.m., Doppler radar tracked an a gust front moving north-northwest out of thunderstorms in Washington County extending from 9 miles west of Sterling to 16 miles west of Julesburg, moving northwest at 40 mph,” explains the NWS. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”

Locations impacted by the alert include Sterling, Holyoke, Haxtun, Fleming, Ovid, Iliff, Peetz, Sedgwick, Crook, Paoli, Proctor, Twin Buttes, St Petersburg, Padroni, North Sterling Reservoir, Fairfield, Marks Butte, Atwood and Logan Corners.

The NWS adds, “Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions.”
