A fire weather watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 10:17 p.m. valid for Friday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. for North Fork.
The NWS states that the warning was issued for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. Residents can expect winds to be south 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity 8 to 13%.
“Thursday’s Red Flag Warning and Friday’s Fire Weather Watch have been expanded to include Colorado Fire Weather Zone 292 and Utah Fire Weather Zone 491,” according to the NWS. “Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.”
A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
