A 5.1 magnitude quake struck near South Sandwich Islands region on Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 08:12 UTC (06:12 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter of South Sandwich Islands region.
