A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Luganville at midnight on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 13:20 UTC (00:20 local time), with its epicenter about 32 km east-northeast of Luganville and a depth of 119 km.
