Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 hits area close to Maubara, Timor Leste on April 20

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Maubara around midday Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the region at 05:19 UTC (13:19 local time), was centered roughly 123 km northwest of Maubara. It occurred at a depth of 182 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.2 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
