Update: Fire weather watch in place for Cheyenne County for Tuesday – increased fire danger

Published Apr 14, 2026

The National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch at 7:55 p.m. on Monday valid for Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Cheyenne County.

Expect winds to be southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 13%.

“Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control,” adds the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
