CHIISAGATA DISTRICT, Nagano — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Bonin Islands on Sunday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 02:18 UTC (12:18 local time), with its epicenter of Bonin Islands and a depth of 10 km.
