Update: Little Snake and White River placed under a fire weather watch Saturday – gusts may reach 40 mph

An updated fire weather watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 1:21 a.m. valid for Saturday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Little Snake and White River.

Residents can expect winds to be southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity 9 to 14%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” describes the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
