Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake hits close to Los Amates, Guatemala on March 18

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Los Amates on Wednesday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled at 17:35 UTC (11:35 local time), with its epicenter roughly 22 km north of Los Amates and a depth of 10 km.

Residents reported experiencing the quake in multiple cities, including La Lima, Armenta and San Pedro Sula according to the USGS DYFI report.
