The National Weather Service released a red flag warning at 12:39 a.m. on Wednesday valid between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Cheyenne County.

The NWS states that the warning was issued for wind and low relative humidity. Winds are forecasted to be northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity as low as 17 percent.

“Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control,” comments the NWS.
