On Sunday at 1:44 p.m. an updated fire weather watch was released by the National Weather Service valid for Monday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. for Larimer County below 6,000 feet/Northwest Weld County and Northeast Weld County as well as Logan, Sedgwick and Phillips counties.

Winds are expected to be west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 14 percent.

“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” comments the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
