Update: Seismic activity on Feb. 1 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake close to Mohr, Iran detected

Sunday morning, a 5.3 magnitude quake was reported close to Mohr, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 05:11 UTC (08:41 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 25 km west-southwest of Mohr, at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.2 event, but later upgraded it to 5.3.

Over the last week, one more magnitude 4.2 quake was recorded in the area, with the event occurring close to Mohr too, four days earlier.
