On Thursday at 6:12 p.m. an updated red flag warning was released by the National Weather Service valid for Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. for Sedgwick and Phillips counties.

Winds are forecasted to be northwest 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph and relative humidity as low as 18 percent.

“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” adds the NWS.
