Update: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude reported close to Mid-Indian Ridge on Dec. 30

A 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Mid-Indian Ridge Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 04:16 UTC (10:16 local time), was centered of Mid-Indian Ridge. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.0 event, but later upgraded it to 5.1.
