According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to South Sandwich Islands region Sunday night.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 00:00 UTC (22:00 local time). The epicenter was situated of South Sandwich Islands region, at a depth of 25 km.
