Update: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude registered close to Goroka, Papua New Guinea on Nov. 12

UNGGAI-BENNA DISTRICT, Eastern Highlands Province — around midday Wednesday, a 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Goroka, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the area at 03:23 UTC (13:23 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 31 km northeast of Goroka and occurred at a depth of 106 km.
