Update: Earthquake shakes region near Abepura, Indonesia on Nov. 4 – 5.0 magnitude reported

SARMI REGENCY, Papua — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Abepura Tuesday morning.

The tremor hit the area at 21:29 UTC (06:29 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter located approximately 185 km west-northwest of Abepura.
