Update: Oct. 21 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake reported close to Ashkāsham, Afghanistan

BAHARAK, Badakhshan — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake hit near Ashkāsham Tuesday night.

The tremor struck at 18:14 UTC (22:44 local time), with its epicenter situated roughly 34 km west-southwest of Ashkāsham and a depth of 238 km.
