Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake rattles close to Kokopo, Papua New Guinea on Oct. 21

A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Kokopo at midday on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 03:47 UTC (13:47 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 101 km south of Kokopo, at a depth of 61 km.
