On Saturday at 1:26 p.m. a fire weather watch was released by the National Weather Service valid for Monday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for North Douglas County below 6,000 feet/Denver/West Adams and Arapahoe counties/East Broomfield County and Central and East Adams and Arapahoe counties as well as Washington County.
Winds are expected to be northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph and relative humidity 12 to 17%.
“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” states the NWS.
A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
