System name: Karen

The post-tropical cyclone system was last addressed in a final advisory by the National Hurricane Center at 4 p.m. Friday. Karen weakened and had devolved from subtropical storm into a post-tropical cyclone with sustained winds of 45 mph. Post-tropical cyclone Karen is in the Atlantic Ocean, 675 miles north-northwest of the Azores. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, is moving north-northeast at 16 mph.

“Gradual weakening is forecast tonight and Saturday, and Karen should degenerate into a trough of low pressure late Saturday”, according to forecasters.
