System name: Humberto

The remnant system was last addressed in a final advisory by the National Hurricane Center at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Humberto found new strength and had evolved from a Category 1 hurricane into a remnant with sustained winds of 70 mph. Remnants of Humberto are in the Atlantic Ocean, 340 miles north-northeast of Bermuda. With maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, the system is moving east-northeast at 23 mph.

Yesterday (Tuesday)

The Category 2 hurricane named Humberto developed into a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 80 mph. Humberto was previously forecasted as a Category 2 hurricane but has since gained strength.

Hazards affecting land

Surf. Swells from Humberto are likely to cause dangerous surf and life-threatening rip current conditions, affecting beaches of the northern Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, and much of the east coast of the United States over the next several days.
