According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake struck near Mid-Atlantic Ridge Thursday afternoon.

The tremor jolted the area at 17:02 UTC (16:02 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated south of Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
