The advisory was issued for South and East Jackson/Larimer/North and Northeast Grand/Northwest Boulder counties above 9,000 feet and South and Southeast Grand/West Central and Southwest Boulder/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Summit/North and West Park counties above 9,000 feet.

“Light to moderate snow will continue to impact the higher Front Range mountains through this evening, but significant impacts outside of locally slushy roads are not anticipated on any of the major opened passes. 1 to 4 inches of additional snow accumulations can be expected for the higher east-facing slopes above 10,500 ft in elevation through this evening,” says the National Weather Service.

If you become stranded, remain composed. Inform someone about your situation and location. Avoid attempting to walk to safety. Indicate that you need assistance by attaching a cloth to your car’s antenna or mirror, and make your vehicle more visible by using the dome light and flashers

Be aware of snow plows:

Keep an eye out for snow plows and allow them ample room to pass. Only overtake a plow when you have a clear view of the road ahead.
