An updated flash flood warning was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX on Monday at 7:25 a.m. in effect until 10 a.m. for Denton County.

At 7:25 a.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges detected thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall in the warned area, with flash flooding currently occurring or expected to start soon, according to the NWS. Flooding is affecting small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other poorly drained and low-lying regions.

The warning impacts several locations, including Plano, Carrollton, Frisco, Denton, Lewisville, Flower Mound, The Colony, Corinth, Highland Village, Lake Dallas, Sanger, Lake Lewisville, Little Elm, Prosper, Celina, Pilot Point, Argyle, Hickory Creek, Double Oak, and Shady Shores.

The NWS advises to avoid driving into flooded roads, as most flood-related fatalities happen in vehicles.
