A 5.5 magnitude quake was reported close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky around midnight Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 13:27 UTC (00:27 local time), with its epicenter situated approximately 164 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and a depth of 10 km.
