Update: Sept. 18 – 5.7 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.7 magnitude quake shook near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Thursday morning.

A tremor struck the area at 21:37 UTC (08:37 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated about 138 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 30 km.
