A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted the area at 08:31 UTC (19:31 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located roughly 160 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
