Update: Earthquake measuring 5.1 strikes area close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 29

A 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at midday on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor shook the region at 23:49 UTC (11:49 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located about 58 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 70 km.
