The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Yigo Village Wednesday evening.

The tremor, which struck the area at 09:23 UTC (19:23 local time), was centered roughly 110 km east-southeast of Yigo Village. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later downgraded to 5.0.

Five quakes with a magnitude 2.5 or higher were detected in the region last week, two of them larger than magnitude 5.5. The largest one was a 6.1 earthquake that shook the same region three days earlier.
