On Wednesday at 11:46 p.m. an updated heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Thursday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. for La Junta Vicinity/Otero County, Las Animas Vicinity/Bent County and Lamar Vicinity/Prowers County as well as Crowley County.
The NWS states, “High temperatures of 100 to 107 degrees are expected.”
“Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur in a short period of time,” says the NWS.
