Update: Earthquake jolts region close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on July 30 – 5.2 magnitude detected

A 5.2 magnitude quake was registered close to Severo-Kuril’sk at midday on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor hit the area at 01:07 UTC (11:07 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 72 km east of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 51 km.
