According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake hit close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Wednesday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor rattled the region at 03:07 UTC (15:07 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 74 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 10 km.
