Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake reported close to Nikolski, AK on June 28

ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — Saturday evening, a 5.2 magnitude quake was detected close to Nikolski, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor struck the area at 6:08 a.m. (7:08 p.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located about 101 miles south of Nikolski and occurred at a depth of 6 miles.
