Update: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude recorded close to Ascension Island on July 22

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake shook close to Ascension Island Tuesday morning.

The tremor hit the area at 06:38 UTC (05:38 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located north of Ascension Island.
