Update: 6.2 magnitude earthquake registered close to Sand Point, AK on July 20

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—Sunday afternoon, a 6.2 magnitude quake was recorded near Sand Point, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 10:28 p.m. (2:28 p.m. local time), was centered approximately 50 miles south-southeast of Sand Point. It occurred at a depth of 29 miles.
