According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake shook close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon.
It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 07:06 UTC (18:06 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 141 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 10 km.

Quakes last week
Four tremors with a magnitude 7 or higher have been detected in the area last week, four of them larger than magnitude 7. The most significant was a 7.5 magnitude earthquake recorded in the same region prior to this quake.
