Earthquake strikes area near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia: 6.7 magnitude registered on July 20

Sunday afternoon, a 6.7 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the region at 07:07 UTC (18:07 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 151 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 9 km.
