Update: 5.7 magnitude earthquake shakes near Sand Point, AK on July 17

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.7 magnitude quake occurred close to Sand Point Thursday afternoon.

At 4:30 a.m. (5:30 p.m. local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 22 miles, with its epicenter approximately 58 miles south-southeast of Sand Point.
